Announcing the Finalists of the ECSO Awards 2024

The European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2024 ECSO Awards, which will unveil Europe’s most promising cybersecurity start-up and solution provider. This year’s event, hosted by Bochum Wirtschaftsentwicklung and co-organised by the Women4Cyber Foundation and eurobits e.V., is scheduled for 21-22 March 2024, in Bochum, Germany. The awards shed a unique spotlight on the enterprise’s endeavor in the current European cybersecurity landscape.

ECSO and the generous host Bochum Wirtschaftsentwicklung, together with co-organisers Women4Cyber Foundation and eurobits e.V.,  look forward to welcoming the chosen start-ups and scale-ups to this year’s edition. The ECSO Award Finals will feature pitches from 12 start-ups and 6 scale-ups, carefully identified by expert Judging Panels, each exhibiting excellence in the European cybersecurity scene. The event goes beyond standard networking possibilities by providing a one-of-a-kind forum for key players in Europe’s cybersecurity industry. Informative panel discussions moderated by experts will delve into the most important issues in European cybersecurity, making this event essential for investors, providers, and end-users.

Europe’s most promising cybersecurity start-ups have been carefully selected through a series of events hosted around the continent, including ECSO’s Cyber Investor Days. Expert judges in cybersecurity investment and entrepreneurship from notable European corporations, have identified the following finalists for the prestigious ECSO STARtup Award:

This award not only provides a unique opportunity for start-ups to connect with potential investors but also significantly enhances their visibility and networking capabilities on a European level.
The most recently introduced ECSO CISO Choice Award is dedicated to recognising larger European cybersecurity companies and their innovative solutions. Consequently, Europe’s most promising cybersecurity solutions have been carefully selected through a series of events hosted around the continent, including ECSO’s Cyber Solution Days. ECSO is delighted to announce the selected finalists competing for this award:

“We in ECSO are proud to announce the ECSO STARtup Award and CISO Choice Award finalists. We hope this will trigger new achievements and foster the creation of sustainable links in the community. At ECSO, we are delighted to provide European companies with the opportunity to showcase their work and innovations, along with the possibilities to meet with potential investors, buyers, and like-minded actors. We wish the best of luck to all contestants and hope that these prestigious awards will open new doors and opportunities.”

Luigi Rebuffi, ECSO’s Secretary General

“eurobits e.V. has been a close partner to ECSO since 2019 and provided high class start-up events over these years in Bochum. With is 25 years’ experience in working together with world-class research institute from the Ruhr-Region, eurobits e.V. has supported numerous start-ups and created a highly respected ecosystem in cyber security. Hosting the prestigious ECSO STARTup Award is an honour for us and we look forward welcoming our European community in Bochum”

Christine Skropke, e.V.’s President

Related to ECSO’s STARtup Award and CISO Choice Award, the Women4Cyber Foundation aims to acknowledge and celebrate women in the cybersecurity field, as well as companies that are actively working towards achieving gender equality. Consequently, the Women4Cyber Award, known as the Women4Cyber Entrepreneurship Award, will be given to a finalist with female-led company, selected by the Judging Panel in each of ECSO’s award categories.

“Although diverse teams of men and women working together have been shown to outperform homogeneous teams, women are still vastly underrepresented in the cybersecurity field. Our goal with the Women4Cyber Entrepreneurship Award is to give visibility to companies founded by women or with diverse teams and thus encourage investors to notice and unlock the potential of these companies. As Women4Cyber President, I’m delighted to be part of the jury for this award and look forward to seeing the many inspirational European start-ups that will participate.”

Anett Mádi-Nátor, President of the Women4Cyber Foundation.

At the 2024 ECSO Awards, the spotlight will be on the finalists as they present their most compelling pitches, which will be thoroughly examined by two distinct Judging Panels. The finalists that win in each category will be a shining example of dedication and cutting-edge contributions to the European cybersecurity environment.
