The European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) is proud to announce the establishment of the ECSO CISO Community Belgium, the latest addition to the growing list of national chapters of the pan-European ECSO CISO Community.

The chapter continues the efforts of the Belgian Signal group Security Leaders, established in 2020 by Marc Vael. Allowing swift and secure communications, the channel gathered national security leaders to share information, experiences, comments, and questions on all kinds of security topics under Chatham House rules. With a strict vetting of news members to avoid commercial pitching, the group grew to connect more than 90 full-time cybersecurity leaders.

Under the umbrella of the European Cyber Security Organisation, the ECSO CISO Community Belgium aims to further empower Belgian Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) with a centralised forum to exchange information, threat intelligence, and good practices. Streamlining the collaboration among national and regional professionals, the national chapters of the ECSO CISO Community have a proven track record of effectively developing common positions between cybersecurity practitioners.

Additionally, the Belgian national chapter will strengthen the voice of Belgian CISOs in the European community, generating synergies with professionals from all across the continent and leverage the privileged position of the European Cyber Security Organisation towards the European Institutions. Coming together with these tools, Belgian and European CISOs can build a more cyber-resilient and strategically independent Europe.
