About ECSO's Annual CISO Meetup 2024
What were your highlights of the ECSO’s Annual CISO Meetup 2024?
This was the first participation of Excalibur as sponsors and speakers in front of the ECSO CISO Community, which we consider a milestone for our company. It’s not common that a growing company has the chance to present to hundreds of CISOs and this event gave us the opportunity to do so.
We took advantage of this unique occasion to introduce not only our company to the audience but also a prototype of a new disruptive technology we are working on, in order to get the feedback from the audience.
We were very happy to receive a trove of comments and ideas from many of them that stopped by our booth at the exhibition floor.
What are your main takeaways of the event?
First and foremost, the confirmation that Excalibur solutions are going in the right direction, solving real problems for European organizations. Connecting with the ECSO CISO Community was a great opportunity to validate that and we are very satisfied with the results.
Then, there were many interesting topics shared by the rest of the speakers, and we see a growing interest from many different parts of the European cybersecurity actors to build stronger communities, with ECSO playing a significant role.
What would you say to those considering attending the event next year?
I believe this event – and the community behind it – is a great place for European CISOs to connect, exchange knowledge and insights, and learn what are the initiatives from ECSO and its members – like Excalibur.
Strengthening the European cybersecurity landscape
What roles do partnerships play in Excalibur’s mission?
Empowerment and Cooperation are at the heart of everything we do, and our whole approach to the market is based on partnerships, as we are a 100 % partner-first organization.
This also translates into many other areas, where we partner with institutions and organizations to spread cybersecurity best practices – as we do with the ECCC -, to support the european cybersecurity landscape – like our participation in the creation of the Cyberhive Matrix – , and with CISOs to get their feedback and improve our products according to what they see is relevant for them.
Partnerships are at the heart of our mission, and we believe that it is through the creation and development of communities and ecosystems that the European cybersecurity landscape will grow successfully.
How does Excalibur plan to continue supporting the development of the industry in the future?
As members of ECSO, we continue to be part of – and support – the initiatives that help the regional cybersecurity landscape to grow and expand, and with that, increase the overall cybersecurity of Europe.
Looking ahead, what emerging technologies or trends in cybersecurity are you most excited about, and how is Excalibur preparing for the future?
We see a growing understanding by the end users of the relevance of securing identities in order to prevent breaches, moving from a primarily reactive and endpoint-focused security approach, to a proactive and identity-based one.
Due to that, Excalibur is uniquely positioned to help European companies to be better prepared to protect themselves against attacks before they happen. The obvious adoption of AI is a technology that is of high importance and interest for everyone, and we are incorporating it into our products.
Finally, the upcoming EU Digital Wallet, enabled by eIDAS 2.0, is a platform that might change the way we enable – and secure – identities online.
About Excalibur
How do Excalibur’s products and services help overcome the biggest cybersecurity challenges faced by European organizations?
European organizations have to prevent breaches, detect and respond to incidents, and at the same time, comply with regulations like NIS2.
Excalibur is the Privileged Access Management product that provides a seamlessly integrated, easy to use and implement, secure-by-design and passwordless solution that secures access and enhances visibility.
We are based in the EU – holders of the Cybersecurity Made in Europe label – and provide just-in-time (temporary) privileged access for third parties, additional layers of security controls with our 4-eyes authentication and access features, and prevent stolen credentials as passwords are never shared to and by privileged users.
When compared to other solutions in the market, we provide all of the above without requiring large investments in implementation and license fees, which helps organizations to address the growing list of compliance requirements without needing to significantly increase their budget.
Moreover, our customers can actually save as our solutions are significantly more affordable to implement and maintain than the ones they typically use.
What are some success stories or case studies where Excalibur’s cybersecurity solutions made a significant impact on a client’s security posture?
As we integrate Multi-Factor Authentication in our Privileged Access Management platform, and we Stream Access through browsers, we are uniquely positioned to support critical infrastructure and most complex cases as well as protecting the internal resources of organizations.
Within our customers, for instance, there is an European National Bank that is protecting one of their most critical assets with Excalibur, and there’s a national government that is implementing our solution as their Privileged Access Management tool for securing access to a multi-entities private cloud.
Wild card question: answer a question Excalibur would like to be asked.
The question is: What is the main differentiating factor of Excalibur?
Excalibur isn’t a traditional PAM solution, as what we do is better defined as Streamed Access Management. The way we enable access to protected and privileged assets is by streaming it through a secure tunnel to the browser of the user, making our solution unique in the market and highly secure.
ABOUT THE ECSO CISO COMMUNITY
The ECSO CISO Community hosts Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and other cybersecurity experts working closely with CISOs*, from all across Europe and sectors. Its objective is to promote the exchange of information, good practices, threat intelligence, and to develop common positions of cybersecurity practitioners.
