Return of ECSO’s Annual CISO Meetup: uniting 200 CISOs across Europe

The European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) is delighted to announce the second edition of its highly praised CISO Meetup. This extraordinary event will take place in Florence, Italy, on 28-29 November 2023 exclusively for all European Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and their Team Members. This upcoming Meetup serves as a crucial platform for CISOs and their teams to convene, exchange ideas, and foster mutual trust within the European CISO community, marking a significant step toward the unification of European CISOs. As such, it ultimately paves the way for a stronger European cybersecurity ecosystem at large.

ECSO recognises that in today’s digital age, CISOs have a more prevalent role than ever. However, there is a lack of platforms for them to exchange sensitive cybersecurity information due to underdeveloped links and support at the European level. Consequently, in 2022, ECSO launched its first Annual CISO Meetup to promote the sharing of knowledge and best practices among cybersecurity industry leaders across Europe. Following the successful inaugural event, ECSO is excited to announce its second meeting at Palazzo dei Congressi/Villa Vittoria in Florence on 28-29 November, generously hosted by ECSO Member The Tuscany Region.

Our goal at ECSO is to bring together the European CISO community to connect and share from each other in a peer-to-peer trusted environment. The rapid growth of ECSO’s CISO Community find its mirror image in the growing size and expectations from this event, allowing CISOs to exchange lessons learned, increasing resilience to cyber threats in their own sector and ultimately contributing to a more secure and more resilient digital Europe.”

Said Luigi Rebuffi, ECSO’s Secretary General

The event will be dedicated to high-level discussions on critical cybersecurity topics as well as the community’s future goals and initiatives among peers. This year’s edition anticipates a wide participation of approximately 200 CISOs who will come together to engage in a variety of sessions. These sessions will include enlightening keynote speeches, presentations highlighting real-world security breach case studies, panel debates addressing the most pressing issues in the field, engaging dialogues with public administration representatives, and sector-specific roundtable discussions.

In addition to extraordinary opportunities for engagement with other CISOs, the event will include an exhibition area where our valued sponsors including  Accenture, aizoOn, BforeAiCanaryBit, CDeX Cloud, Citalidcosmian, Cyber Guru, EYDeloitte, EGERIE, HoxhuntISC2KnowBe4Kovrr, planck Security, PwC, Red Sift, redShift, Reply, secunet Security Networks, SoSafe, Tinexta, and YesWeHack will showcase their cutting-edge innovations. ECSO expects  many more sponsors to be confirmed shortly. This platform not only introduces CISOs to European cybersecurity providers and solutions but also equips them with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions for their organisations.

As the host of Europe’s only cross-sector and cross-country CISO Community, encompassing over 350 Members from 28 countries, ECSO builds a trusted space for CISOs to share sensitive cybersecurity information and best practices. ECSO’s Annual CISO Meetup, a crucial step in this mission, unites CISOs from diverse European backgrounds, strengthening collaboration on  cybersecurity challenges. Through a range of activities, attendees can expect to leave the event armed with valuable connections and deep knowledge, enabling strategic decision-making amid evolving security demands across Europe. Ultimately, this enhances not only the safety of European organisations but also the security of the continent at large.
