ECSO is proud to announce the Workshop with Western Balkans Representatives, an exclusive event taking place at ECSO’s Office in Brussels, on Tuesday 24 of September 2024.
We are hosting a seminar on national cybersecurity legislation organised for the legal experts of the Western Balkans 6 (WB6). As part of a series of events dedicated to improving the harmonisation between EU and WB6 cybersecurity legislation, this workshop aims to present to legal experts from the WB6 good practices, the challenges arising from the implementation of the NIS2 Directive, as well as the requirements needed during the implementation of the relevant legislation, based on the experiences of EU countries. This workshop will cover following topics:
- ECSO White Paper on implementation of the NIS2 Directive
- Public and private view on cybersecurity EU policies presented by the representative of EU MS, European Commission, and private companies.
- Overview of the Cyber Security Coalition in Belgium – its role, scope of work, organisational structure, cross-sectoral cooperation, tools etc.
- Effective leadership in cybersecurity
- Presentation of the Belgium legislation auditing mechanisms
Context
This workshop is part of the UK-funded project, “Resilient and Responsive Cybersecurity in the Western Balkans”. Led and developed by the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF), the project engages the WB6 national ministries responsible for cybersecurity legislation, their national CERTs, critical national infrastructure (CNI) specialists, and NGOs as main partners.
As part of a previous project, DCAF supported cybersecurity legislation processes in the WB6 region through various initiatives, including organising legal seminars and assisting in developing relevant laws and bylaws in this field.
