We are pleased to announce that ECSO is partnering with the Tuscany Region to host an exclusive networking and brainstorming event titled “European Regions & the Progressive Uptake of AI: What Skills to Protect and Empower Citizens?“. This event, taking place on 18 September 2024 from 16:30 to 20:00 at the Tuscany Region EU Liaison Office in Brussels, will dive into the pressing issue of how AI is reshaping our world and the essential skills needed to navigate this transformation.
The event will begin with an Opening Session featuring experts from the European Commission and the Committee of the Regions, who will discuss the challenges and opportunities AI presents to European Regions. Following this, Professor Dino Pedreschi from the University of Pisa will deliver a keynote speech, offering insights into AI’s potential as both an empowering tool and a source of new vulnerabilities.
The heart of the event will be an Interactive Round Table discussion, co-moderated by Luigi Rebuffi, Secretary General of ECSO, and Gianluca Vannuccini, for Information Systems, Technology Infrastructure and Innovation from Tuscany Region. This isn’t just another panel discussion—this is an opportunity for its participants to actively engage with the topic. We’ll be using AI tools to spark a brainstorming session that invites all participants to contribute their thoughts on how we can close the AI and cybersecurity skills gap. This is your chance to take part in this vital conversation, sharing your own experiences and ideas with peers from across the continent.
