Europe’s main start-up match-making event solely focussed on cybersecurity is about to take place! Ten selected European cyber start-ups are competing on the 5th and 6th of April in The Hague to win the European Cybersecurity STARtup Award. In this interview, meet XignSys, one of the ten finalists competing to win a unique business opportunity in Europe.
What cybersecurity values does your business bring forward?
We have built ourselves an authentication product that works truly passwordless, so no backdoors, fallback-mechanisms or anything offers potential attack-vectors for unauthorised users. By doing so we finally close the gap between security and usability for users, so that any use-case, either digitally or analogue, can be used securely but easily, without the need of additional hardware.
By reaching the “substantial” security level for eIDAS we bring the foundation of e-Government. We do this purely as an authentication solution, so no identities, no user data and no valuable information of the user is stored on our systems. We can be integrated to combine different market segments within one federated identity ecosystem.
We want to meet your team! Can you present it and tell us what makes it unique?
We have grown from three employees in 2016 to 33 FTEs in 2022. Most of our developers and colleagues have a cybersecurity background, so our software was and will always be developed with security in mind. But we also added different qualifications such as HR, sales, marketing, legal with multiple years of international experience to grow a broad spectrum of competence in different sectors. We provide highly specialised cybersecurity software but have a strong entrepreneur mindset and are well experienced in different markets.
What is your desired outcome from this experience? What do you hope to achieve?
We are currently fundraising, so this event fits us perfectly. We are looking for potential investors that are interested in pre-series A cyber-security start-ups. Also, for 2022 and 2023 we are focusing on growing within Europe. Right now, our customers are primarily from Germany, but our solution and certifications are Europe-wide. We provide the best foundation for partnerships with our standardised authentication-solution which can be integrated easily via SDKs, works on-premises or SaaS and provides the best security for any use-case.
